South West Governors Told Herdsmen To Ignore Return To North.
In a report with the South West Governors Forum has told the Fulani herdsmen in the South to ignore the call for them to return to the North.
The NEF Chairman, Prof Ango Abdullahi, in a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday said that, the call for Fulani herdsmen to return to the North was borne out of the alleged realisation that their lives had allegedly been put at risk due to the recent actions and utterances of southern governors.
While the South West governors on Friday team up to described that call as unpatriotic.
In a statement with the Chairman of the forum and Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, the governors asked the herdsmen to remain in the region.
The statement describe that, the six South West governors were already making an efforts to provide adequate security for everyone in the region.
According to the statement, We call on all persons of Fulani extraction, and indeed all Nigerians from other parts of the country, resident in the South West to discountenance the unpatriotic outburst of the NEF and other self serving group of opportunists.
